Service Opportunities

All projects must be approved by your Scoutmaster before starting!

Service Policy and Form – be sure to fill out the form to get credit for your hours.

Mass Audubon – dozens of fun and educational volunteer opportunities around the state.

Greater Worcester Land Trust – blazed trails, GPSed resources, constructed signage, etc.

Ecotarium – As a volunteer, you will assist the EcoTarium in carrying out its mission while helping to make our visitors’ experiences both fun and educational.

ElderHelper – aims to match volunteers with elders in need of help within their own community.

Worcester Animal Rescue League – The shelter’s doors have remained open for a century due to the financial contributions and efforts of the residents of Worcester County. We can’t thank our volunteers enough for all they do.

American Red Cross – There are many ways you can volunteer with us in your local community.

Field of Flags

  • Two community volunteers are needed each day – with each volunteer working a 4-hour shift alongside an OSV staffer.
  • Shifts are 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Saturdays and Sundays, May 23 through Aug 2, and Monday, May 25 and Friday, July 3.

Volunteers will work with an OSV staff member to procure donations to the Village’s annual Field of Flags campaign. Stationed in the Visitor Center, volunteers will promote and encourage donations to the Village’s Field of Flags campaign through the purchase of an American Flag, as well as process donations.
